- Carne Asada (okay, not quite, just marinated flank steak) w/ onions, peppers, black bean & corn salsa, guac and rice. I had some homemade tortilla chips. Which is flour tortillas lightly fried in canola oil. But so so so good.
Workout:
- 20 Burpees, still going strong!
- Day 2 of 2 hour derby practice. Thoouugh, I did ease up a little over half way through. It was quite the accomplishment. I decided to do some very VERY basic body blocking. Course I know myself better and it did turn into light hitting, which I was exceptionally happy with. No issues whatsoever. I continued onto a waterfalling drill. Well, as derby goes, I took an unexpected spill which turned into a roll. I got back up as I always have and my knee felt great. No issues at all. I called it a night at that point as I figured that used up all my luck. But I fell and it didn’t hurt me!! 🙂 I did realize I’m not so much scared of hitting or being hit, I’m way more scared of being in a pack with people. I am far more worried about being tripped than anything else at this point.
I totally understand the mindset. I still wear a knee brace while playing derby. The couple times I haven’t I have taken hits that threatened to reinjure it. However, I never wear the brace in any other situation. I don’t want the knee to be weak. Consider that brace … just for your brain.
